Khamzat Chimaev has been on a roll ever since his UFC debut. Apart from UFC’s PPV, king Conor McGregor, nobody in recent memory comes close to the Swedish fighter’s rise in MMA. After getting support from the Canadian pop star Drake, Chimaev has another big-name fan backing him up.
After making weight successfully, ‘Borz’ posted a photo of the intense stare-down between him and his opponent, Gilbert Burns. Later, the soccer (football) superstar, Zlatan Ibrahimović, shared Chimaev’s post on his Instagram stories and wrote, “Lets goo.”

Also, the Swedish footballer had another post added which read, “THE TIGER AND THE LION MAY BE MORE POWERFUL, BUT THE WOLF DOESN’T PERFORM IN THE CIRCUS.”
Important to note that Chimaev’s nickname ‘Borz‘ translates to ‘The Wolf’. Thus, the fellow Swedish athlete was showing his support for the undefeated fighter.

Chimaev, who was born in Russia, has lived and trained in martial arts in Sweden. Therefore, he has won three Swedish National Championships.
Ibrahimovic is one of the most outspoken personalities out there. The Swedish striker has earlier raised his voice on many controversial topics, including him advising LeBron James.

Ibrahimović is an ardent follower of MMA and has shown promising skills himself. Even Khabib Nurmagomedov had praised his potential. Ibrahimović once hinted at having a black belt in Taekwondo.

The bout at UFC 273 will take place at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena; #11 Chimaev would take on #2 Gilbert Burns in a three-round bout in the welterweight division.

The former title contender constantly faced questions about being an underdog against a fighter who is not even ranked in the top ten. Hence, as the press conference continued, Burns got frustrated.

When Chimaev talked about dominating the fight, Burns made fun of the undefeated fighter for his broken English and constantly jabbed at him. Chimaev initially tried to laugh it off, but after a while, he visibly seemed upset and angry about Burns’ comment.
Burns even pointed out Chimaev getting angry and smacking the table in the presser.

Thus, the bout, which was already the most awaited attraction of the card, got even bigger. In addition, the ceremonial weigh-in only added to the drama.
