Famous Canadian rapper Drake redeems himself in a basketball game after he lost around $427,000 in a UFC fight in May 2022.

UFC 274 took place at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, the United States on 7th May 2022. The main highlight of the event was the lightweight title bout between Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje.

However, it came to fans’ notice that the Toronto native Drake backed challenger Gaethje for the win. And according to many reports, he even had his money around $427,000 on the former interim lightweight champion.

Unfortunately, ‘The Highlight’ lost the fight after ‘Do Bronx’ submitted him in the first round. Subsequently, Drake also lost his sum. However, the Canadian rapper has redeemed himself by backing the Golden State Warriors.

Drake backed the Golden State Warriors to win in the Western Conference Finals. According to the reports, the Toronto rapper wagered a whopping $1 million after the Warriors clinched the West on May 26th.

UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov didn’t know who Drake was

The 35-year-old Canadian rapper is a big-time UFC fan. He has attended several major UFC events. Not only that, but the Toronto rapper was also present during Conor McGregor’s weigh-in for his fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229.

Although Drake was a huge name in the music industry, ‘The Eagle’ wasn’t aware of the rapper. “Honestly, I swear I don’t even like, before like when he was on corner… like people say this guy very famous,” Nurmagomedov said during an episode of the Full Send Podcast.

“I swear I didn’t know this. I don’t know this guy.… Maybe I hear his music somewhere like in street or something, but I didn’t know this guy,” Nurmagomedov added.

Later, Drake also appeared at UFC 229, backing McGregor for the win. However, the Dagestan native submitted ‘The Notorious’ in the fourth round and retained his UFC lightweight title.
