The uproar that followed Francis Ngannou‘s decision to quit UFC and sign up with PFL has been huge. Most fighters are applauding this bold move by the former UFC champion. Amongst them is middleweight supremo Israel Adesanya. In a discussion on his YouTube channel: FREESTYLEBENDER, the Nigerian kickboxer openly discussed this bold move and what he thinks this could mean for the UFC as well.

Israel Adesanya discusses Ngannou’s money move

‘The Last Stylebender’ was asked about Ngannou’s big money move. Without batting an eyelid, he said that the Cameroonian made the right decision for himself and that he was really happy for him. He felt Ngannou was “the money fight.”

“If I fight for example I’m guaranteed a million, um yeah the UFC they’re not dumb, they’ll take notice, they know how to adapt, and when something like this happens in another field, it creates a big ripple in the game and a big enough ripple can force the UFC to change, maybe like a small change,” he added.

Adesanya wholeheartedly came in support of Ngannou. He said the heavyweight asked for things that should be mandatory and that they should have been given to a fighter of his stature. Adesanya’s comments aren’t surprising considering he is good friends with his fellow African athletes.

Ngannou’s PFL move – Smart or not?

Francis Ngannou’s contract with the UFC was terminated after an extensive disagreement with Dana White. This spanned over several months. However, most avid UFC fans and fighters seem to think that Ngannou made the right decision and that this can work in favor of other fighters in the promotion as well.
