Khamzat Chimaev speaks about his weigh-in failure

A post on Instagram recently caught the attention of ‘Borz’ and he couldn’t help but laugh. The post had a clip of Chimaev talking about his weigh-in failure before the ambitious Nate Diaz fight. The fighters were meant to lock horns at UFC 279.

The two fighters were meant to go at it at welterweight but Chimaev couldn’t make it. So, he ended up picking up a win against Kevin Holland instead. That was a catchweight fight that Khamzat Chimaev won in the very first round within three minutes via a submission.

“Everyone speak about why I didn’t make weight once in my life. And there was some plans to do that. No way, it’s not my plans but I can’t say everything here.” He says in the clip. Now, does this mean that there were some plans on the move, even if they weren’t Chimaev’s? Looking back on it all, the fighter couldn’t help but laugh.
