Joe Rogan won’t easily back down from his claims once he’s made up his mind. That’s what happened recently when Rogan sat down with his friends and guests, Brendan Schaub, Joey Diaz, and Eddie Bravo for an episode of Fight Companion on The Joe Rogan Experience.

Fight Companion episodes are those that air at the same time as a major UFC event. Yesterday was when UFC 297 aired and Rogan and his guests laughed and analyzed fights as they went on. While watching UFC, Rogan couldn’t help but sing the promotion’s praise. Here’s how.

Joe Rogan is convinced that the best fighters come from the UFC

Joe Rogan detailed how he invited a lot of hatred from fighters from different promotions for giving his take on the UFC and its competitors. The fighters remain unknown, but when Rogan says it, it sounds pretty convincing. So what was it that he said?

The UFC is the best if a fighter wants to be the best out there. A tall claim given that there have been and still are many noteworthy fighters outside of the promotion. A great example is Fedor Emilianenko who never crossed over to the UFC. However, Rogan wouldn’t back down.

“I’ve said this before on the podcast and some fighters got mad at me,” Rogan started. “Listen, I understand if you go to Bellator if they pay you more money and I support you doing that. What I’m saying is, if you want to be the best in the world, you wanna be the most famous motherf*cker, the king of the king at 155 pounds, 170 pounds, 185 ,205, you have to fight in the UFC.”

It doesn’t matter what weight class, the UFC has produced some of the greatest fighters. No, that would be wrong, the UFC has helped shape the careers of some of the greatest fighters across weight classes. Jon Jones, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Georges St-Pierre, Anderson Silva, the list could go on forever. One could also name Chael Sonnen, a fighter that Rogan discussed earlier.

For Rogan, no one trash-talks like Chael Sonnen

Joe Rogan noted how Chael Sonnen “revolutionized” talking smack about his opponents. No one had done it like Sonnen before and it started a wave of fighters who suddenly had a very good grip on how to sell a fight. Today, we have the likes of Conor McGregor and Colby Covington talking all sorts of trash. But Sonnen is the one who supposedly started this.

The color commentator recalled the time Sonnen told Anderson Silva how he “absolutely sucked” from the middle of the Octagon when Silva was in his prime. And Silva, in his prime, was not a fighter to be messed with. Clearly, ‘The American Gangster’ is as fierce on the mic as he is inside the cage. Do you believe Sonnen is the best trash-talker in UFC history? Let us know in the comments.
