Alex Pereira proved his skills during the main event of UFC 281. The fighter won the people’s support as he stunningly defeated ‘The Last Stylebender’. Thereafter, he became the target of fighters and their callouts. The most talked about challenge came from the ‘Borz’. A recent clip from ‘The MacLife’ showed Pereira’s callout to Chimaev, while fighting an indigenous wrestling bout.
However, the kick came when the call-out tweets of Pereira and Chimaev flashed on the screens.

Alex Pereira’s indigenous wrestling bout was a callout to Khamzat Chimaev
The current UFC middleweight champion, Alex Pereira, has his native roots in the Pataxó tribe. Undeniably, the fighter’s famed archery ritual supposedly connects him to his ancestry and tribe. The 35-year-old champion has tried to keep his connections with the tribe strong and steady. This was proven during the rituals.

In a recent MacLife video, Alex Pereira is seen in an indigenous wrestling bout. He is seen fighting on the ground, inside a circle. The wrestling bout seemed to take place on the grounds of a forest, with a handful of people in the audience. The audience clapped and chanted, as the fight went on.

As the fight proceeded, The Brazilian fighter’s call out for Khamzat Chimaev flashed on the screen. It read, “Chimaev trying to take me down.” Immediately after, Chimaev’s response flashed on the screen. He said, “this is your level”, followed by laughing emojis. However, the outcome of the fight was not shown in the video clip.

The ‘Poatan’ became the cream of the crop when he defeated Israel Adesanya, in UFC 281. Although several matchups and challenges have come to the man with hands of stone, the one that excited the UFC world was the challenge by ‘Borz’. The Swedish warrior was one of the first to challenge the champion. However, Pereira didn’t respond to Chimaev’s call directly.

‘Poatan’ shared a clip from the movie ‘Kung Fu Hustle’, where the actor is seen backing out from multiple fights. He shared the clip on Instagram and trolled Chimaev by writing, “Chimaev choosing an opponent.”

However, the ‘Borz’ didn’t back down. He tweeted with a challenge and date to fight the champion. He wrote, “@AlexPereiraUFC 10 December let’s go, i already agreed. Now it’s your turn.”
Furthermore, Chimaev revealed in an interview with ESPN MMA that he believed Pereira’s wrestling skills were at the white belt level. Additionally, he said, “If Israel takes him down, and punching him. And the other guy [Alex Pereira] don’t come up from him, I don’t know how he will come up from under me, brother.”
