However, this is not the first time ‘Notorious’ has taken aim at ‘The Highlight.’ Following Gaethje’s BMF title win, McGregor tweeted that he would “slap Justin Gaethje around.” He further asserted his position as the “real BMF” and emphasized: “I’m the real bmf, he can fight for pennies if he wants but I want spirits, I call the shots, I’m in it to launch shots, f**k chandler, you want it call for it.”
Justin Gaethje’s take on Conor McGregor
Gaethje, on the other hand, had his own take on the potential matchup. During a recent appearance in Sydney for a Q&A session, a fan asked him about his thoughts on fighting Conor McGregor. ‘The Highlight’ didn’t hold back, expressing his desire to end McGregor’s career once and for all. He stated, “I’d be lying if I didn’t say I dreamt of ending his career and making sure he’d never be able to step back in there.”

Gaethje also highlighted McGregor’s choice to face Michael Chandler, whom he had already defeated, as a clear indication that McGregor wanted to avoid fighting him. The BMF champ asserted, “Chandler will now be the second guy that I beat that he chose to fight, and I think that speaks for itself. He won’t fight me, plain and simple.”
