At the recently concluded UFC Vegas 74, Amir Albazi managed to steal a close split-decision victory from fellow flyweight Kai-Kara France. The fight which saw the back-and-forth action between the two, seems to have impressed a lot of people, including UFC president Dana White.
Expressing his thoughts during the post-fight press conference, White said he is certainly impressed by the performance of the two fighters. According to the 53-year-old promoter, the fight was so close that he couldn’t decide who was going to win until the final round. In the his own words,

“Yeah, I thought it was a super close fight. I felt like both guys needed to win the fifth round, and uh yeah I was right it was very very close and uh split decision.”
Additionally, White also praised the high level of grappling shown by the two fighters, especially Albazi. Considering, the 29-year-old flyweight was ranked 7 going into the fight against somebody in the Top 3 of the division. However, despite this performance, he couldn’t say for sure if the English will fight for the title next or not. Responding to John Morgan’s question, Dana White said:
“I mean, there are no guarantees that anybody’s next. You know what I mean, there’s a lot of things that are factored into”
Regardless, this win has extended Amir Albazi’s win streak to 5 in the UFC and 6 in MMA overall. This gives him a much-needed push that the Iraq-born fighter requires to be in the title picture. On the other hand, it was Kai-Kara France’s second loss in a row, refuting any possibility of a rematch with champion Brandon Moreno, for now.
Dana White issues challenge for Tyson Fury, again
At the press conference of UFC Vegas 41, Dana White once again offered Tyson Fury a super-fight with current heavyweight champion Jon Jones. Reigniting the talks of a possible clash between the two, White claimed that he is ready to promote the fight. If the American is to be believed, he can manage to pay the Britisher, stating that he had paid Floyd Mayweather before.
In the past, Fury has denied any possibility of accepting the fight inside the MMA cage. Recently, the ‘Gypsy King’ even posted a story that said ‘I don’t roll, I stand and bang’. Considering, ‘Bones’ too doesn’t seem keen to put on the boxing gloves either, the possibility of the Jon Jones vs Tyson Fury matchup looks quite unlikely for now.
