Coming from Dana White’s Contender Series, Maddalena is undefeated in his last 14 fights. Moreover, at the age of 26, he sits at the #14 rank in the welterweight division.

Now, there is news that the Australian fighter is staying back in Vegas even after the UFC 290 has ended. Why? Because the promotion wants him to fight at UFC Vegas 77. According to reports, the fight will take place in the welterweight category.

The 26-year-old was going to fight Sean Brady at UFC 290. But just 8 days before the PPV, Brady pulled out of the fight because of an undisclosed injury. However, UFC found another opponent for Maddalena soon.

Just a few days later, the officials announced that Maddalena’s new opponent is going to be Josiah Harrell, a UFC newcomer. But as fate would have it, Harrell withdrew from the fight just a day prior after being diagnosed with Moyamoya disease, which is a rare cerebrovascular disease.
