He said, “Sean O’Malley’s not going to beat this guy. I’m saying that what he has put on paper tells you that this is a champion that should be respected for all that he’s done but as you said Mike, Sean O’Malley believes in Sean O’Malley and I think that the fight with Paiva while many question the result ultimately showed that Sean O’Malley belongs at the top of the division and he’s fighting at a level that probably only Aljamin Sterling can match him right now.“
From Cormier’s words, it is clear that he believes in the potential of both Sterling and O’Malley. However, if he has to predict a winner between the two, it’s going to be Sterling. And he may not wrong. While O’Malley did not mean it as a lack of confidence, he did say that he was not in his prime yet.

Sean O’Malley is getting a title shot in the world’s biggest MMA promotion after eight victories in the UFC. However, ahead of his bout against Sterling, ‘Suga’ mentioned that he is still not in his prime. According to the UFC bantamweight star, he has a long way to go in his fighting career.
He further added, “I think I’m definitely improving a lot. I’m still getting better for sure. We have so many killers at the gym.” O’Malley believes that a fighter should achieve great victories continuously in order to be in his prime.
Also, he claims that if a fighter chooses to stay away from active fighting, it may lead to the decline of his fighting career. ‘Suga’ made it clear that he is working hard on himself to improve his fighting skills.
