Social media’s been a huge driver in getting more eyes on MMA lately. Guys like Alex Pereira and Merab Dvalishvili are out there doing interviews, jumping on podcasts, even messing around in comedy skits. But there’s another way to grab attention, getting in the cage and letting the hands fly a little wilder than usual in a sparring session. Sean Strickland has garnered a notorious reputation for doing that, and this time, Jean Silva has also jumped into the mix.

When it comes to beating up social media influencers, you’ve got to bring up Sean Strickland’s sparring session with internet personality Sneako. The streamer, better known for stirring up debates online, once had plans to step into a pro boxing match. So, he set up a sparring session with the former middleweight champ, which was honestly a bad idea. Strickland bloodied his nose so badly, Sneako’s corner had to throw in the towel just to stop the beating. But it was Forrest Griffin who had to rush in and pull ‘Tarzan’ away from the influencer.

And this wasn’t all. About a month ago, the former middleweight champion sparred a YouTuber by the name of Nick Nayersina. This time, too, Strickland didn’t hold back. “I didn’t reach out to this guy,” Strickland said about the incident. “I didn’t say, ‘Hey, influencer, come and spar me.'”

This time, the popular combat sports Instagram page Full Violence dropped a clip featuring #11-ranked Jean Silva landing some nasty body shots on a guy named Joshua Gutierrez, who apparently works with them. It wasn’t quite as brutal as one of Strickland’s infamous sparring sessions, but as soon as Gutierrez took the hit, the pain was written all over his face.

And this isn’t the first time Joshua Gutierrez has taken a full-blown body shot from a dangerous fighter. He’s also posted clips of himself eating body shots from none other than Yoel Romero. Though to be fair, it looked like the former UFC middleweight contender was going a little easy on him. Mauricio Ruffy was also one of the Fighting Nerds members who had once joined in on the fun, cracking Gutierrez in a similar video.

Fans got a kick out of watching Jean Silva rip those body shots into the influencer. But at the same time, some were a bit concerned, especially seeing how deep those punches sank into Gutierrez’s midsection. No doubt he’s going to be feeling that pain for hours. So, let’s take a look at what the fans are saying.

Fans react to Jean Silva blasting body shots into the social media influencer’s body

One user couldn’t help but point out the pain on Joshua’s face, writing, “He was shook!” Another fan enjoyed the show a little too much, saying, “I wanted more.” Well, any more than that and it could’ve gone seriously sideways for the guy. Either way, he’s definitely waking up with Silva’s fist imprinted on his ribs.

Another fan wrote, “Bro was distraught he started scratching his head,” likely aimed at Jean Silva, who seemed genuinely confused about how Gutierrez was still standing after eating two clean body shots. And then there was the comment that summed it all up, “My stomach hurts just looking at it.” Honestly?—Fair enough. It looked straight-up brutal. And it didn’t stop there, Silva was having some fun, even throwing in a fake uppercut to mess with Gutierrez.

One fan pointed it out perfectly, writing, “Flinched right into the uppercut.” Good thing it was all in good fun, if that shot had landed, it would’ve been a whole different story. To top it off, there was a moment where Silva accidentally clipped him with a light kick to the jewels. One viewer summed it up with, “Even I flinched at that n–t shot.” Yeah, that one hurt just watching.

Videos like these, made purely for entertainment, definitely make watching MMA content way more fun. That said, those were just a few reactions from the clip. So, which comment caught your eye or made you laugh? Drop your thoughts in the comments below.
