MMA journalist Ariel Helwani has often found himself in the middle of a beef or some sort of back-and-forth during his career working for different organizations and outlets. While the individuals he finds himself in conflict with mostly happen to be other fighters or athletes, the 40-year-old, this time around, is on the receiving end of a lash-out by one of his peers.

Interestingly, this development took place after UFC middleweight Sean Strickland‘s latest interview with the said journalist. Strickland, staying true to his eccentric personality, had called for a fight between the two MMA media personalities in order to settle their differences, which led to Helwani responding to it on his show.

Strickland, 32, during his interview with ‘The Schmo’, had proposed a cage fight for the journalist with Helwani. Funnily, the UFC middleweight even claimed that he’d show up as a corner man for the MMA Fighting correspondent.

Following this, Helwani, during ‘The MMA Hour’ show, addressed the subject in his conversation with Strickland’s teammate Chris Curtis. What apparently seemed like a casual back and forth till that point took a surprising turn when ‘The Schmo’ responded back on Twitter.

Dave Schmulenson, or ‘The Schmo’ as he likes to be known in the MMA circle, has unfortunately found himself in a couple of bad spots recently, with UFC president Dana White, too, having lashed out at him earlier.

As for his beef with Helwani, it all appears to have started out with claims of a “fake email address” that was apparently shared by the 40-year-old to him. Despite Helwani denying those claims, Schmulenson addressed it in his tweet while also attacking the veteran journalist for being a “keyboard warrior”

“Don’t promote ‘Helwani Boxing’ and act like a tough guy when you can’t take the heat, you keyboard warrior. My self-made work without paid assistance or crying on National television speaks for itself. And no more 10-7 pu**y sh*t. Don’t talk about it, be about it,” read the tweet.

For MMA fans, this development sure sounds like an entertaining storyline. Although the chances of both journalists stepping into a cage to settle their beef, do sound a bit far-fetched.

Helwani earlier dismissed The Schmo

During his conversation with Chris Curtis, the 40-year-old, addressing Schmulenson’s interview with Strickland, brought up the subject of the fake email address. He also claimed that despite any prior ill feelings; the duo had already settled their differences, which was the reason he couldn’t understand why Schmulenson would bring it up yet again.

While ‘The Schmo’ did acknowledge their prior meeting in an event, he also claimed that Helwani was adding extra baloneyinto his narration of the story.

As of now, although the MMA fighting correspondent hasn’t responded to anything yet, MMA fans who are familiar with Helwani will be expecting a fiery response from his end as well. But hopefully, instead of this blowing out into a full-blown unnecessary beef, both the gentleman will choose to settle their misconceptions outside of the public eye.
