Islam Makhachev joins Khabib Nurmagomedov and Angelina Jolie to raise more awareness about the Gaza-split

Palestine is currently experiencing a disastrous time, as the entire region has been transformed due to the ongoing war. Eleven months have passed since Israel announced war against their neighbors and multiple rounds of bullets and missiles have been fired by both nations. The loss of precious human life is massive. As of now, 41,000 lives, including women and children, have been lost because of the war and it appears that the end isn’t on the horizon.

In a rather shocking and tragic development, news from the warzone reports that over 61 people have been killed in the past 48 hours. How? Palestinian medics reported that airstrikes targeted two former schools, sheltering displaced people in Gaza City and Jabalia, resulting in the death of multiple people. This news has rattled the entire world and the lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev, was one of them.

Makhachev took to his Instagram handle to share a video of a small girl who lost both of her legs because of the airstrike. He captioned it, “O Allah, we cannot watch this, but they silently endure this.” He was not the only celebrity who reacted to the tragic incident as a MMA titan and a Hollywood A-lister offered their take on the subject.

Well, this is not the first time that Makhachev has shown extreme solidarity for Gazans.

The time when Makhachev refused to celebrate his victory

Islam Makhachev’s second bout against former featherweight champ, Alexander Volkanovski witnessed a rather unpleasant conclusion for the featherweight champ as he was head-kicked by the lightweight champ and knocked out soon after. However, this was a tremendous victory for Makahchev who made sure to shut up his criticism after they had doubted his credentials after their first fight. Despite the immense magnitude of the victory, Makahchev moved around the Octagon to ascertain that the people shouldn’t celebrate it.

“I’m not celebrating the win today, because crazy things are happening around the world. Palestine we stand up with you. Stop this! Stop this!,” referring to the Israeli bombing campaign of Gaza,” said Makhachev in a remark. This was a rather emotional moment for the Dagestani star as he expressed his sentiments on the matter.

In addition to that, after Islam Makahchev’s victory against Dustin Poirier at UFC 302, Khabib Nurmagomedov went to former US president Donald Trump to ask him a simple favor, “I know you will stop the war in Palestine.” In response, Donald Trump said, “We will stop it. I will stop the war.” The war is carrying on at its own pace. Regardless, what’s your take on Islam Makchhev’s statement? State your thoughts in the comments below.
