However, American rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine once threatened to beat UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov. But recently, the rapper has changed his opinion about the former UFC champion.

Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, is known for his controversial status among the fans. He even went a step further after claiming that he could take on Nurmagomedov, who was one of the most dominant fighters in the history of the UFC.

Tekashi 6ix9ine once threatened to beat Khabib Nurmagomedov

In a video that went viral over a year ago, 6ix9ine was seen streaming live on Instagram when he went on to challenge Khabib Nurmagomedov to a fight. He even went on to claim that he can beat the former UFC champion easily. This raised a lot of eyebrows on social media. He asked his fans on Instagram: “Yo, who you think will win in a fight? Who you think is winning the fight, me or Khabib [Nurmagomedov]? Comment right now 6ix9ine or Khabib”

When the fans replied with a vote of confidence for the rapper, he went on to insult the UFC legend. 6ix9ine said, “Yo, look everybody is saying 6ix9ine. I will beat the sh*t out of Khabib. Look, everybody is saying I will win in a fight.” However, at the time of that statement, Nurmagomedov had already retired from UFC following the death of his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov.

6ix9ine changes his opinion about ‘The Eagle’ after the South Florida gym attack

The 26-year-old rapper was recently seen attending the UFC 287 pay-per-view in Miami when media personnel caught hold of him. When asked who 6ix9ine was supporting, he said, “Whoever, I don’t care. I don’t know. I am here to watch some UFC fights.”

When the reporter asked 6ix9ine about his favorite UFC fighter, he gave a surprising answer and said, “Khabib [Nurmagomedov].” In addition to that, he commented about Nate Diaz. 6ix9ine said, “I like him [Nate Diaz] too.”

Many people believe that the rapper’s love for Khabib Nurmagomedov stems from the severe beating he received in a gym in South Florida last month.

The incident took place when 6ix9ine was inside the sauna as several guys started attacking him without a warning. Fans think that the beating may have increased his respect for the UFC fighters who put their life on the line now and then.
