Sean Strickland is all set to face Dricus Du Plessis for his first title defense at UFC 297. Both fighters engaged in a lot of verbal brawls before their much-awaited clash. Gilbert Burns reveals the plan that Strickland had made beforehand
Sean Strickland was formerly in the news after he got emotional while talking about his childhood trauma. However, his challenger, ‘Stillknocks’, mocked the champion at the seasonal press conference regarding the matter. ‘Tarzan’ evidently was not impressed by the trash-talking and launched an attack on the challenger after they were made to sit beside each other at UFC 296. Luckily, none of the fighters got injured, nor did the people in the crowd.
Gilbert Burns’s children were very close to the action and Strickland made sure they were not harmed. During a recent YouTube video, Burns said: ” It was actually cool for him to kind of do it. He kind of gave me a little heads up. He said I don’t like this guy, they put us too close. I said, yeah but it is what it is. If I do something I let you know but I thought I don’t know when the guy said that. I don’t know and then he like right now and they are like oh my God like. And they pull the kids. Luckily, nothing happened. But uh, I don’t like the trash talking, to be honest, you know. I don’t don’t.

Sean Strickland is ready to defend his title against Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 297
Sean Strickland shook the world when he defeated Israel Adesanya at UFC 293 via decision. ‘ Tarzan’ not only won the title but also dominated the fight, thus staking the claim of being the best in the middleweight division. He will now be entering the Octagon on Sunday for his first-ever title defense against the challenger Dricus Du Plessis. ‘ Stillknocks’ has made rapid progress in the division and has earned a title shot in just six fights.
He earned the title fight after he knocked out Robert Whittaker at UFC 290. His battle with Strickland will be worth watching, as the pair has already been involved in a lot of trash-talking.
