When Alex Pereira dropped his belt to Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313 in March, he lost a lot more than just the title. ‘Poatan’ was in the running to be P4P #1, right behind Jon Jones and Islam Makhachev. He dropped five spots to #8, while Ankalaev debuted in the list at #11. So, it was only fair that Pereira shot back up the ladder after dispensing the Dagestani in a minute and twenty seconds.

Alex Pereira leapfrogs Magomed Ankalaev on the updated P4P list
Last year, Alex Pereira shouldered the weight of the UFC’s underwhelming events, stepping in on short notice and repeatedly proving that he never backs down from a challenge. Earlier this year, however, his light heavyweight reign faced turbulence.
Between winning the title in November 2023 and dropping it to Magomed Ankalaev in March 2025, Pereira defended it three times. That means he fought four times in a calendar year – one of them being the UFC 300 headliner against Jamahal Hill. With level of activity and domination, no wonder he was in the running for the P4P top spot.

At UFC 320 last week, Alex Pereira rewrote the script. With a storm of punishing blows, he sent Ankalaev to sleep, reclaiming his throne with authority. Now, the path to pound-for-pound supremacy beckons once more. “Poatan’ rises four spots to No. 6, sliding just past Alexander Volkanovski. The man he beat, Magomed Ankalaev, slides down four spots to No. 11,” wrote MMA journalist John Morgan on X. And the P4P movement did not stop there.
Big move up the pound-for-pound list for @AlexPereiraUFC after reclaiming his title at #UFC320.

The bantamweight division, by contrast, remained largely steady through UFC 320. Merab Dvalishvili held his position as kingpin, extending his win streak by outsmarting Cory Sandhagen across five punishing rounds, showcasing both grit and tactical mastery. Both ‘The Sandman’ and ‘The Machine’ retained their spots in the division. Outside the top 10, the landscape shifted subtly: bantamweight rising star Montel Jackson entered the top 15 ahead of his UFC Rio showdown, while Marcus McGhee slipped off the list. Let’s take a more detailed look at the other changes, too, shall we?
Latest divisional rankings changes following UFC 320
At UFC 320, beyond the headline clash of Alex Pereira vs. Magomed Ankalaev, the card also showcased a high-stakes battle for the No. 1 contender spot in the light heavyweight division between Jiri Prochazka and Khalil Rountree Jr. For the first two rounds, Prochazka struggled to ignite, allowing Rountree to dominate the action. The former light heavyweight title challenger looked sharp and composed, using precise defense and technical striking to build a 2-0 lead on all three judges’ scorecards heading into the final frame.
Then ‘BJP’ went rogue. Jiri Prochazka unleashed his chaotic trademark style in the third and final round, raining a flurry of punches and kicks that put Rountree in all kinds of trouble before landing a late knockout. He turned up the intensity from the opening seconds, leaving no doubt about his finishing power. After his victory, Prochazka made it clear, “I believe the next one will be one of these two who will fight for the title tonight,” Prochazka told Joe Rogan.
Despite the win, Prochazka remains tied with Magomed Ankalaev as the top contender for the light heavyweight title. Carlos Ulberg holds firm at No. 3, while Khalil Rountree dropped to No. 5 after his loss. Joe Pyfer entered the top 15 in the middleweight division, landing at No. 15, and the flyweight division shifted as Ramazan Temirov’s suspension removed him from the rankings, allowing Rafael Estevam to enter at No. 15.

The women’s divisions also witnessed notable movement. Yana Santos surged to No. 5 in the bantamweight rankings following her catchweight victory over Macy Chiasson. In the featherweight division, rising star Youssef Zalal moved past Brian Ortega and currently holds the No. 7 spot after his win over Josh Emmett at UFC 320.
