Brazilian ace Alex Pereira moved to the light heavyweight division following his failed title defense at UFC 287. However, he’s hinted about the arrival of yet another fighter to the UFC’s middleweight division. The fighter in question is the former Glory Kickboxing sensation, Yousri Belgaroui.

After Tresean Gore withdrew from UFC 290, the promotion pitted his opponent Bo Nickal against an undefeated newcomer Val Woodburn. Woodburn was initially set to fight Marco Tulio Silva on Dana White‘s Contender Series. However, it seems like that opportunity has now fallen to Yousri Belgaroui, who will transition to MMA and take on Silva on the August 29 episode of DWCS. So what could Belgaroui’s arrival mean for the division?

Alex Pereira announces the arrival of Yousri Belgaroui in the UFC

In a recent Twitter post, Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira claimed that his former Glory Kickboxing rival Yousri Belgaroui is coming to the UFC soon. Moreover, he has a long history with the Tunisian-Dutch fighter, having faced him thrice in Glory and getting beat on one occasion. Pereira tweeted, “There’s a guy arriving who will bring some fire in the middle weight division.”

Belgaroui has also faced the reigning 2-time UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya twice. However, he lost via decision on both occasions. Now, like Pereira and Adesanya, he is also coming to the UFC and could butt heads with the champion if he can impress Dana White on August 29.

The Tunisian-Dutch fighter has an impressive kickboxing record. He has accumulated a record of 27 wins and seven losses in kickboxing and is 5-2 in MMA. Moreover, 13 of his 27 wins have come from knockouts. Belgaroui is wasting no time and is already preparing for his DWCS entry.

Yousri Belgaroui is in Las Vegas for the DWCS shoot

A recent post shared by MMA manager Jorge Guimaraes revealed Yousri Belgaroui has been preparing for his fight against Marco Tulio Silva in Las Vegas, Nevada. The shoot for the upcoming DWCS episode is also in the works and ‘Baby Face Assassin’ is leaving no stone unturned in preparation for, perhaps, the biggest fight of his career.

Furthermore, Guimaraes claims that there will be a lot of “fireworks” when he steps inside the Octagon. Both Silva and Belgaroui are excellent strikers in the game. A fight between those two will surely have a lot of action.
