MMA’s veteran figures, Josh Thomson and John McCarthy, recently sparked some confusion while talking about a female fighter who’s set to make her debut at UFC Noche. The fighter in question is Alice Pereira, who has an undefeated 6-0 record and is set to become the youngest female fighter in UFC history. While discussing the fighter on their YouTube show, Thomson and McCarthy’s attention was caught by the fighter’s last name, which had them convinced that she was Alex Pereira’s sister.

On the latest episode of the Weighing In podcast, Josh Thomson took a look at the UFC Noche card. When he saw Alice Pereira’s name, he asked his co-host, “Is this [Alice Pereira] Alex Pereira’s sister?” John McCarthy replied, “I think so,” confirming the fact that he’s also sure about the 19-year-old female fighter’s affiliation with the former two-weight champion.
Josh Thomson seemed very interested in witnessing how Alice Pereira’s debut fight pans out, believing that she’s got a style similar to that of Alex Pereira. “I think it is, right? She’s 6-0. I believe it is [Alex’s sister] as well. She’s the second fight on the prelims. She’s a little bit like her brother. Got a little bit of power, a little bit of kickboxing. She’s not too bad.”

Well, it is understandable that the name may confuse people since Alice and Alex share the same last name, Pereira. However, she is not his sister and has no connection with ‘Poatan’. In fact, the UFC star’s sister’s name is Aline Pereira, who, much like her brother, is also a former kickboxer and currently competes under the Karate Combat banner.

For the UFC star’s sister, she may not be in the UFC as of now, but Aline is still making waves in the combat sports world. Alex Pereira’s sister recently made her mark in Karate Combat
MMA and grappling may be the most dominant sports in the martial arts scene, but Karate Combat is slowly catching up to them. It has put on some exciting fights in the past few years, which also includes the Karate Combat 56 flyweight championship match between Alex Pereira’s sister Aline and Fani Peloumpi. As always, ‘Poatan’ was there for his sister in the corner during that fight when he stepped out of her brother’s shadow and brought home another title.
