“The way Batista’s fighting right now is a good strategy with Aldo, unless Aldo catches him, hurts him, or he slows down. But if he doesn’t, he’s winning a decision. I mean, Aldo needs to try and go first; he’s never willing to go first, though. There you go! Go first, there you go!” said Alexander Volkanovski.

He further added, “It doesn’t look good when you’re not getting a takedown. Even though they’re not landing, the judges are going to… I really want… it’s close, like, you can see why. Really close. You can see why judges would go both ways. For me, I think the safest would be Bautista, but I can see why, with the way they’re judging and the way judges are, they might have a different… oh, split decision!”

Jose Aldo reacts to his loss against Ma͏ri͏o Bautista at UFC 307

The͏ le͏gac͏y that José Aldo has left in this sport is ͏yet to be replic͏ated ͏by any f͏ighter. E͏ven after conqu͏e͏rin͏g the promotion in the 2010s͏, Ald͏o remains͏ at the ͏top of the UFC as he fight͏s consistently without ta͏k͏ing any breaks. Regardless, it appears that age is catching up with the GOAT of the featherweight division as his last clash at UFC 307 didn’t go as planned.

Despite his tight decision loss, the former featherweight champion took to his social media handle to add a message for his fans, “Speak up, people! Time to go back home. It was an intense week of prepping for the fight, lots of dedication, weight loss process, and yesterday the fight! It wasn’t how we expected, but we move on, life goes on. Thank you Salt Lake for all the love!”
