After a disappointing 2022 and 2023, Petr Yan was determined to get back to fight form in 2024. Despite Song Yadong’s explosiveness, the former bantamweight champion came out on top at the Kaseya Center in Miami. However, ‘No Mercy’ had to give everything he had in that fight, which resulted in him suffering an injury in the very first round of the fight.

Despite losing his belt at UFC 298, Alexander Volkanovski did not fail to stay in tune with what’s happening in the UFC’s other divisions as well. He had been watching the UFC 299 PPV and noticed that Petr Yan injured his leg in the first round against Song Yadong. “[Petr Yan] hurt his leg in the 1st round and came back to win last two rounds,” said ‘The Great’. The Aussie star praised the Russian ace for getting back in the second and third rounds despite a lackluster first round. Nevertheless, let us take a look at how the fight went down in Miami.
