Volkanovksi, the current UFC featherweight champion, will be looking to bounce back from his knockout loss against Islam Makhachev at UFC 294. On the other hand, the contender Topuria, is aiming to dethrone ‘The Great’ and cement himself as the future of the featherweight division in the UFC.

Before taking on Makhachev in October 2023, Volkanovski had unified the featherweight title by beating interim champion, Yair Rodriguez, in a title bout at UFC 290.
