Conor McGregor had an intense rivalry with Khabib Nurmagomedov. These fighters were cordial with each other in the initial stage of their UFC run. However, things went south when they met each other at the top. Since their interaction involved team members, families, coaches, and managers, it was not always in a positive light, and it surpassed a regular UFC competition.

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s manager found himself under the spotlight when ‘The Notorious‘ called his name while facing off against ‘The Eagle’ ahead of their October 6, 2018 bout at UFC 229. Since then, the Russian fighter’s manager has made some comments about Conor McGregor that weren’t in the best interest of ‘The Notorious’.

On Twitter, the Irish superstar posted a small clip of a BBQ with the caption, “Proper Twelve BBQ sauce…”, to which Ali Abdelaziz replied, “Stick to cooking because you’re not good in fighting anymore meat and potatoes.”

McGregor’s recent run in the promotion has been the toughest ride of his entire mixed martial arts career. The superstar suffered back-to-back losses (UFC 257 & UFC 264) at the hands of Dustin Poirier in the lightweight division.

McGregor had a victory over ‘El Diamante’ at their first meeting at UFC 178. However, both their 2021 bouts saw different outcomes than their September 2014 bout at 145 lbs. Thus, Nurmagomedov’s manager had a go at ‘The Notorious’ for his poor run last year.

Ali Abdelaziz warned ‘The Notorious’ about Beneil Dariush

Even a few weeks back, Ali Abdelaziz asserted Marvin Vettori‘s comment about Beneil Dariush beating Conor McGregor in less than two minutes. He posted, I hop in with you @beneildariush will k*ll this punk”

Dariush is a top contender in the lightweight division. And since McGregor has teased his return at 170 lbs, a bout between them is a far stretch.

Can Conor McGregor beat Beneil Dariush?

‘The Notorious’ had a tough outing against the former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier. But apart from Charles Oliveira and Khabib Nurmagomedov, ‘The Diamond’ troubled everyone in the division.

Further, at UFC 246, the former featherweight and lightweight champion had a highlight-reel performance against Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone. Thus, putting too much weight into his performances against Dustin Poirier would be a miss.

Dariush has a completely different style than Poirier. He’s a phenomenal grappler, yet the lightweight has shown to brawl with his opponent in the heat of the moment, and that could be a problem against a slick striker like Conor McGregor. However, Dariush would have a grappling edge against the Irish martial artist.
