Ali Abdelaziz backed Al Iaquinta in his Twitter barb with Conor McGregor
It is no surprise that modern-day MMA heels like Conor McGregor and Colby Covington, have a lot of enemies. The brash persona and unyielding defiance despite suffering defeats make them attractive fighters that fans can’t get enough of. Both men sometimes engage in over-the-top insults that rub people the wrong way, making them a prime target for all the hate.
Being the undisputed bad guy of the lightweight division, McGregor has turned everyone into his rival, including Al Iaquinta. The duo has been attacking one another on Twitter for 3 years, and it looks like the rivalry isn’t going to die just yet. Recent comments made by the American mixed martial artist about McGregor’s team, SBG Ireland, attracted a response from the superstar.

2021 hasn’t been kind to the former UFC champion by any means, as the Irish mixed martial artist suffered two back-to-back losses. In both fights, McGregor faced Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier, and unfortunately, he ended up breaking his leg during the second bout. Since then, he has been out of action and is still recovering from the injury.
Not so long ago, the Irish fighter shared an update about his injury and clarified that he can spar on a routine basis soon. This could set the stage for his return to the octagon in 2022 soon. UFC has not provided an update about his return, but fans would definitely love to see the trilogy play out between McGregor and Nate Diaz, who is currently looking for his final farewell fight.
