‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ has a good friendship with the UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya. Hence, Usman was willing to skip the middleweight division and was considering a move to the light heavyweight division. Speaking about it, Usman said, “I was going to skip Israel and go fight Jan at 205. Because I’m pound-for-pound, I want to prove it. No matter what weight it is, I thought he was a really good matchup for me.”
However, the light heavyweight title since then has changed hands. Jiri Prochazka is the current light heavyweight champion after he beat Glover Teixeira in a fight for the ages. However, Usman’s manager Ali Abdelaziz believes Usman holds the capability of beating both Prochazka and Teixeira.
I just rewatched the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship, I believe @USMAN84kg will beat Jiri, Jan and Glover.
