After becoming a part owner of the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, Conor McGregor seldom leaves a chance to promote the fights. And the trend continued for BKFC Knucklemania V. On 23rd January 2025, the main eventers, Eddie Alvarez and Jeremy Stephens officially faced off against each other. However, it was ‘The Notorious’ who kept attracting all the attention towards himself.
The bare-knuckle fight promotion shared the visuals of the face-off on Instagram and the caption to the post read, “This one is going to be fun. 👊” Therein, the founder and president of the BKFC made the welterweight fighters face each other, as the crowd went wild. But ‘Mystic Mac’ on the other hand, seemed a lot more energetic than anyone else on the stage. He did his best to hype up the fight on the 25th of January. He could be seen clapping and laughing like a madman, before posing with his fist raised high for a picture with the fighters.
Needless to say, McGregor’s only intention was to sell the fight and get a boatload of returns. He even seemed to have given up on promoting his fight against Logan Paul for the sake of BKFC and his UFC return. Well, that’s what the fighting community extracted when the MMA journalist, Jake Noecker, asked him what was next out of Logan Paul fight, BKFC, and UFC. McGregor wasted no time in picking up BKFC and promoting Knucklemania V, before admitting that it was his UFC return that’s next.

Many fight fans seemed to believe that ‘The Notorious’ wanted most of the attention for himself. And that didn’t seem to paint him in a good picture. One fan commented, “Conor looks path3tic & desperate to be the center of attention 🙄🤡.” Another fan claimed, “Connor can’t not be the centre of attention. Bro dies for it.” A few others suggested, “Bro someone tell Conor to sit down.”
In the meantime, a handful of fans decided to go back in the memory lane to UFC 205, when McGregor fought Alvarez and defeated him with an impressive KO. About 9 years later, McGregor has become one of Alvarez’s bosses. A few fans reflected on this and wrote, “It’s got to be crazy to be up there knowing your boss knocked you tf out before.” Another fan commented, “McGregor vs Alvarez 2016 , after 9 years this is happened Boss looking his employee working. 😂😂”
And ‘The Notorious’ seemed to be rooting for ‘The Silent Assassin’. This made the fans remember McGregor’s dialogue and write, “Does Connor even know who the f–k that guy is squaring off against Eddie???” Another fan commented, “Nobody roots for somebody conor beat more than conor. 😂”
