UFC commentator and former mixed-martial artist Michael Bisping discussed his list of ‘must-happen’ matches for 2023. One of the fights in his list included former double champion Conor McGregor taking on Jorge Masvidal. Both fighters have registered losses in the last UFC fights.

Michael Bisping believes that Conor McGregor is the biggest star in the industry, whether people love him or hate him. He said, “Say what you want, but he [McGregor] is still the biggest star in the sport. He is exciting, from when the fight gets announced, to the press conferences, to the walk, to the fight, to the post-fight speeches, even if he loses.”

Bisping also mentions that there are multiple fighters, like Michael Chandler and Tony Ferguson, who want to fight the Irishman. But he wants to see him take on ‘Gamebred.’ “There are a lot of people out there who want to fight Conor McGregor… I mean, there’s Michael Chandler, there’s Tony Ferguson. But the fight I want to see is against Jorge ‘Gamebred’ Masvidal,” said Michael Bisping.

Michael Bisping remarks that both fighters are strikers and will have an excellent match should it ever happen. He also mentioned that both fighters have lost mostly to wrestlers. Bisping said, “I wanna see him [McGregor] against someone who is gonna put on an exciting fight. I don’t want to see someone try to wrestle him.”

Bisping also added, “I want to see him [McGregor] in a fun fight. I want to see him against someone who will stand toe-to-toe. That’s what Masvidal will do. Masvidal toe-to-toe, standing on the feet, is as game as they come. He’s as fast, he’s as quick, he’s as technical and he’s as nasty.”
