Rose Namajunas secured an amazing first-round victory over Weilie Zhang at UFC 261. ‘Thug Rose’ knocked out Zhang in 78 seconds with a high kick to the head. Following the victory, Namajunas received praise from all over the world, including UFC Lightweight fighter Justin Gaethje.

Juston has been an avid supporter of Namajunas and was even seen in tears after ‘Thug Rose’ defeated Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 217 back in 2017.

‘The Highlight’ can be heard saying, “Oh my God, I’m f**king crying right now. Believe in your f**cking self! Rose is my f**king hero and idol, oh my God. F**k yeah!”

That reaction from Gaethje revealed how much her victory meant to the fighter. Now, after Namajunas has achieved her goal of winning the UFC strawweight championship, Gaethje once again showed her appreciation for the fighter and called out those who had mocked him for crying after her last victory.

“All the dudes that made fun of me for crying from excitement a few years back when Thug Rose KO’d Joanna now know exactly what I felt. She been the best for a long time, but it feels unreal to see someone face their fears and inspire people like that.”

After Namajunas’s victory against Zhang, many people got emotional as this victory meant a lot to the fighter. Zhang was undefeated in her last 20 professional MMA matches, and Gaethje feels this victory showed the world how hard work and dedication can help you achieve anything.

What next for Justin Gaethje and Rose Namajunas?

Everyone touted the fight between Namajunas and Zhang to be one of the best at the event. However, the fact that Namajunas absolutely dominated the face-off meant that the fight ended quite quickly.

As ‘Thug Rose’ has just won the title, the fighter will probably spend some time away from the Octagon.

On the other hand, Gaethje last fought at the UFC 254 event, where he faced Khabib Nurmagomedov for the UFC lightweight title. ‘The Eagle’ won that fight via second-round technical submission. Since then Gaethje has not competed, but Dana White had revealed that they have comprehensive plans for Gaethje.

‘The Highlight’ is No.2 in the UFC lightweight rankings and we are surely going to see him compete in the Octagon really soon.
