Both Walker and Ankalaev are two of the most impressive light heavyweight fighters in the division. A winner of this fight was going to give us the next possible title challenger in the division. While some fans were backing the Brazilian for his impressive striking skills, others were with the Russian accomplished fighter. However, the fight did not go in anyone’s favor, as it was called off in the first round. Quickly, this drew reactions from some of the biggest MMA names, including Joe Rogan and Conor McGregor.

Just as Walker vs Ankalaev started, the latter landed a knee on Walker’s chin in the very first round. Instantly, the referee stopped the fight for a timeout. As Walker, who was affected by the knee, was recovering, a doctor came into the ring. Soon, the medical professional started a conversation with the referee. Before anyone could understand anything, the officials decided to call the fight off.

Apparently, it was because the medical professional deemed Walker unable to fight. Joe Rogan, who was watching the fight live, had some wild reactions to this event. Moreover, the popular podcast host deemed the knee illegal. “Oh! He just hit him with an illegal knee. He is okay though. It was a hard knee. That is on the jaw.”
