The Brazilian MMA fighter is currently the reigning champion of the bantamweight and the featherweight division in the UFC. ‘The Lioness’, as her name suggests, is resilient and fearless when she is inside the octagon.

Nunes vs Cris Cyborg- Fight For The Featherweight Championship

This epic fight took place in the year 2018 at UFC 232. This time, ‘The Lioness’ had moved up in weight, and was against the legendary fighter Cris Cyborg. To top it off, this was a title fight and the featherweight championship belt was on the line. To nobody’s surprise, Nunes used her dominance and power and knocked down Cyborg in just 51 seconds of the first round of the fight.

With this win, she became the first woman in UFC’s history to win championships in two divisions simultaneously. The Brazilian also grabbed the Performance of the Night award for a thrilling show.

When Amanda Nunes took over Ronda Rousey

Nunes was on the top of her game when she fought Ronda Rousey in the year 2016 in the main event at UFC 207. This was the first time the Brazilian had defended her bantamweight title. With her punches, she knocked down Rousey in 48 seconds in the first round of the bout.

‘The Lioness’ again grabbed the ‘Performance of the Night’ award for her splendid performance inside the octagon. She was running at a winning streak of four when she fought this MMA superstar. With this win, she proved herself to be one of the strongest members of the game.
