While 2020 was a tough-calender for the entire promotion, Dana White and his team still kept the show running and 2021 looks alluring at this point.

That said, the UFC fighters and superstars are in the perfect position to kick off the year. It’s already the new year, and the fighters didn’t restrict themselves to their hardcore training on this special day.

Although many fighters like Conor McGregor seemingly spent their New Year’s Eve training, there are many more who spent time with their family and loved ones.

The MMA elites flooded social media with their NYE posts, sending the fans into a frenzy. Here are some social media wishes from the mix.

UFC and the new year

Dana White will begin the year at Abu Dhabi in Yas Island, where UFC will possibly host 3 events in January. The first event will be UFC Fight Night, headlined by Max Holloway vs Calvin Kattar.

The second event was scheduled with a headliner between Leon Edwards and Khamzat Chimaev. However, Chimaev is out of the contest and Edwards will need a new opponent to put on a show.

The ultimate showdown will be at UFC 257, where former rivals Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier will lock horns in an epic rematch. The first what happened in 2014 at the featherweight division where McGregor KOed Poirier in the first round.

The rematch at lightweight will determine whether the scenario has changed or McGregor is still the aggressor over Poirier.
