Amanda Nunes’ Record Gets Broken at UFC 300 as Ronda Rousey and Other WMMA Legends Get Surpassed by Jessica Andrade

Jessica Andrade certainly etched her name in the history of UFC at the monumental UFC 300 pay-per-view event. She defeated fellow Brazilian Marina Rodriguez and broke a substantial record, seemingly surpassing the former double champion Amanda Nunes‘ record of most wins in all the UFC’s women’s division.
UFC 300 opened with a bang! Deiveson Figueiredo submitted Cody Garbrandt, registering the first finish of the historic pay-per-view event. When it came to the first women’s fight, it did not disappoint. Jessica Andrade lived up to her status as the favorite heading into the fight and created a narrative for generations to follow.

Jessica Andrade showcased a great performance against Marina Rodriguez. That victory took her to 17 wins, which is one more than arguably the greatest female UFC fighter ever, Amanda Nunes. Andrade put on a great show in the early prelims card at UFC 300. Despite missing quite a few strikes, ‘Bate Estaca’ landed a total of 124 out of 220 strikes, with 89 significant strikes out of 180 attempts.

The former strawweight champion also landed the only takedown of the fight against Marina Rodriguez. The fight ended with the judges scoring 29-28, 29-28 and 28-29 and Jessica Andrade scored a split decision win. She could very well find herself in title contention with a couple more wins since ‘Bate Estaca’ is now on a two-fight winning streak. Most wins by the numbers in the history of the UFC women’s division
When it comes to the wins in the women’s division, there are quite a few fighters with wins in the double digits. As we’ve mentioned earlier, Jessica Andrade with 17 wins surpassed Amanda Nunes, who has 16 wins. Thereafter, Raquel Pennington stands in third place with 13 wins in the UFC so far. After the reigning bantamweight champion, sits the former flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko, who has secured 12 wins in her UFC career so far.

Katlyn Cerminara and Angela Hill share 11 wins each, while Carla Esparza, Joanna Jędrzejczyk, Rose Namajunas, and Gillian Robertson share similar records with 10 UFC wins each. We can safely assume that there will be more wins coming for Jessica Andrade, who’s only 32 years old and still has her eyes set on reclaiming the strawweight title.

The record for most wins may be a special achievement for Jessica Andrade, but that may not be it. With a two-fight winning streak, it may not take long for ‘Bate Estaca’ to get back into title contention.
