Amanda Ribas started her professional MMA journey in September 2014 and has had 16 fights to date. The 30-year-old has won 12 of the 16 fights but unfortunately did not find as much success as the other 4 ended up in losses.
Ribas won four fights in a row before eventually losing to fellow UFC fighter, Polyana Viana in the first round via KO in November 2015 at Jungle Fight 83. The loss against Viana was the first but she would go on to bounce back with a win over Jennifer González, in the second round via TKO.

The Brazilian would go on to be signed by the UFC after her TKO win and would go on to win four more. Her run would unfortunately come to an end as she would lose to Marina Rodriguez at UFC 257 in the second round via TKO. Ribas would end up having a streaky run as though she would win her next fight, but she would lose to Katlyn Chookagian at UFC Fight Night via a split decision in 2022.
Amanda Ribas would lose her fourth fight against Maycee Barber via KO/TKO in June of 2023 at UFC Fight Night. Ribas going into her fight against Namajunas is coming off of a 3rd round KO against Luana Pinheiro, which also got her the POTN bonus. However, this might not only be the edge she has on her opponent coming into the fight.

Trevor Whittman not cornering Rose Namajunas in her fight against Ribas
Sports Journalist Shakiel Mahjouri had earlier confirmed that longtime coach, Trevor Whittman would not be cornering Rose Namajunas in her fight against Amanda Ribas. The sports journalist took to Twitter and wrote, “Rose Namajunas tells me Trevor Wittman will NOT be in her corner for #UFCVegas89 on Saturday. Wittman wasn’t in her corner for her flyweight debut either”
