Charles Oliveira has been the underdog in most of his UFC appearances. However, this won’t be the case after his recent win over Dustin Poirier at UFC 269. The win marked his first-ever title defense and his tenth consecutive win in the promotion.

Oliveira finished Poirier off in the third round of the fight by doing what he’s best at, making his opponents tap. “Do Bronx” extended his UFC record for most submission wins and most finishes.

Both fighters showed tremendous respect for each other after the fight. Poirier made a class gesture after the fight and offered his support to donate $20000 to a charity of Olivera’s choice. “I would like to donate 20,000 dollars… You pick where the money goes,” said Poirier to the champion.

Both competitors are extremely charitable people and are also very skilled fighters. Dustin Poirier runs his own charity organization known as “The Good Fight Foundation“. With his proceeds from UFC 269, the athlete has vowed to contribute over 300,000 meals to families in need around Louisiana.

Many big names in the UFC have contributed to ‘The Good Fight Foundation’. some of these include Khabib Nurmagomedov and UFC President Dana White himself.

Charles Oliveira has also aided numerous families in Sao Paulo. Oliveira had a very rough childhood while growing up in the ‘favelas’ of Brazil. His family didn’t have enough money and struggled to make ends meet. He got to where he is today through hard work and dedication. He remains grateful and donates whenever he can.

What’s next for Charles Oliveira and Dustin Poirier

After his massive victory over ‘The Diamond’ at UFC 269, Charles showed the world why he deserves to keep the belt. Oliveira will take on Justin Gaethje next year, this was also confirmed by Dana White. Gaethje’s win over Michael Chandler at UFC 268 guaranteed him his shot at UFC gold.

Dustin Poirier has had an amazing year prior to his loss against Oliveira and is definitely worthy of making his way back up to the title. But for this, he’ll have to win his next fight in a dominant manner, which he usually does. Michael Chandler could be a suitable opponent for the Louisiana native.
