If you thought Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena were the only ones bringing the heat to UFC 315, think again. The prelim card fight between Mike Malott and Charles Radtke has taken on a personality of its own, with patriotic sentiments coming into play. The beef between the welterweights began when Canadian MMA fans booed the US national anthem as Team Canada won over Team USA at NHL’s 4 Nations Face-Off finals back in February 2025. And with the political tension between the two countries on the rise, the boos seemingly got to ‘Chuck Buffalo’ and he promised to exact revenge. But does Malott feel the same way?
Radtke could not care less about hockey, as he made abundantly clear at the UFC 315 media day. But, as someone who grew up on a bison ranch with a Marine Corps Sergeant Major as his grandfather, Radtke could not tolerate someone booing the US national anthem. His choice of retaliation? Beat Mike Malott on enemy territory and shut the fans up! But when Malott, fight plans aside, has no intention of adding fuel to the fire.
He said, “Man, it seems like we’re both really focused on me. You know what I mean? Like, that’s what I think about that. Like, I don’t care what this guy is doing.” Malott wants to fight the best UFC welterweights, and Charles Radtke is one of them. The Canadian, true to the stereotype, was polite, respectful, and confident in the camp he had for UFC 315. But weighing in on Radtke’s slurs about Canada had to receive some response.

A reporter asked Malott if the response would come before or after the match. To this, the Canadian welterweight replied, “Look man, he’s a grown man, I’m a grown man. I’m not going to try and control what another adult man is saying, you know. That’s not my style. I’m going to go out there and put on the performance of a lifetime. And if my track record is any indication of what I’m capable of on Saturday night, which I think it is a very good indication of what I’m capable of.”
Currently running on a record of 11-2-1, Malott has successfully finished 10 of his fights, out of which 6 were via submissions. And in his last fight, he showed the world that he was capable of dominating the cage for 15 minutes, too. He concluded, “I’ve just added a new arsenal to my game and a new level of confidence going into this fight.”

With his comments, Radtke joined Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier as someone who had issues with Canada. This was definitely not the first time Radtke got into the highlights for his time on the microphone. Back at UFC 293, he invited unwanted attention with homophobic slurs. Nevertheless, he soon sent an apology to the world, blaming the heat of the moment. But do you know what Dana White had to say about that?
What’s your perspective on:
Will Radtke's patriotic fury overpower Malott's calm confidence in the UFC 315 showdown?

Dana White’s opinion on Charles Radtke’s UFC 293 outburst
During the post-fight interview at UFC 293, following his win over Mike Mathetha, Charles Radtke used slurs that left the entire fighting realm enraged. Naturally, Dana White had to swoop in and save the day. And that’s what he did during the post-fight press conference. The UFC head honcho said, “That was flying around a little bit tonight. I think these guys get a little excited, and you make bad mistakes. Radtke did the same thing and, you know me, we didn’t run over and say ‘you’d better apologize’. He did that on his own. When he got backstage, he was embarrassed, he got caught up in the moment.”

He continued, “And like I always say, it’s how you recover from it and how you carry yourself after you make the mistake. [Radtke] came out and apologized on his own free will. We didn’t tell him to do anything. And the fact that he did that means he means it.”
But now, things are a bit different. Radtke was fuming with rage when he made a stance against the Canadian fans who booed the US national anthem. But Malott is focused on the fight and nothing more. Now, all we need to see is how the fight between the two goes down at UFC 315. Will Charles Radtke be able to exact his revenge and secure a win over Malott at UFC 315? Or will the Canadian manage to claim the win over ‘Chuck Buffalo’? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
