In his podcast, Wood narrated an exchange between him and White during one of UFC’s events. According to the UFC fighter, he was scheduled to fight in an event, but his opponent opted out on the last day. With only a few hours left for the event, the UFC could not give Wood a replacement to fight against.

When the UFC fighter came across the UFC President, he hesitantly asked him about a portion of compensation. “I saw Dana and I said, ‘You know my position, I was gutted I could not fight on the card’. I sort of hinted, ‘Is there a bit of compensation to cover some expenses”. To Wood’s surprise, Dana White demonstrated an unexpected level of compassion and fairness.
