At UFC 285, Alexa Grasso captured the flyweight title from Valentina Shevchenko with a submission finish. Moreover, she put an end to the former champion’s nine-fight winning streak. Now, the 29-year-old has bagged yet another accolade in the biggest MMA promotion in the world.

Conor McGregor praises Alexa Grasso after becoming the best P4P fighter

Amanda Nunes retired at UFC 289 as arguably the best female fighter of all time. She successfully defended her bantamweight title in dominating fashion against Irene Aldana. However, before Nunes retired, the two-division champion topped the female’s pound-for-pound rankings. Now, the flyweight champion, Grasso, has taken the spot in the wake of her retirement.

Alexa Grasso now tops the pound-for-pound list. The UFC made it official and the Mexican fighter now sits at the top as the best female fighter in the promotion. Meanwhile, Conor McGregor shared a congratulatory message for Grasso and tweeted, “Viva Mexico.” ‘Notorious’ is currently in a tough spot with the USADA testing process. However, it didn’t stop him from celebrating Grasso’s achievement. It seems to be a recurring thing for the Irishman as he shared the same message with the flyweight champion a few months earlier.
