Amidst Backlash Against His Security in France, Conor McGregor Once Hired 2 Massive Bodyguards to Counter Death Threats

Conor McGregor is one of the most well-known names in the history of combat sports. In 2021, the UFC fighter was the highest-paid athlete in the world. His impact on the UFC has been the most significant. With his slick attitude and outstanding charisma, ‘Notorious’ has attracted millions of fans, making him the richest MMA fighter in the world right now.

However, with all this fame, there is a price to pay for the millionaire fighter. McGregor had once received death threats from people, and he needed extra security with him at public events. The former double champion was walking with an entourage of bodyguards in his hometown, Dublin, Ireland, even back in 2016.

According to reports, two huge bodyguards accompanied McGregor throughout the entirety of his night at the VIP Style Awards in Dublin. The Irish fighter was always in their sight and under their protection. McGregor had revealed that their names were ‘Rocky and Drago’.

McGregor was relaxed and in good spirits throughout the event and celebrated with his long-time girlfriend, Dee Devlin. Anyone wishing to take a picture or speak with ‘Notorious’ had to go through the bodyguards. He also admitted that he had hired protection as he became a target and had received death threats.

The former UFC double division champion was recently spotted vacationing in France. Conor McGregor attended the renowned Cannes Film festival as well and was also in attendance for the premiere of Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming movie, ‘Elvis.’

Two massive bodyguards accompanied the jacked superstar on the streets of Cannes. McGregor was walking in style and showing off his built physique while wearing no shirt. However, he received backlash from fans after his security guard pushed a civilian out of the way of McGregor while he was walking.

The Irishman saw this and didn’t react to the incident at all.
