Shots fired! A couple of days back, #12 UFC Lightweight Dan Hooker aimed a jibe at Lightweight champ Islam Makhachev, fans and the MMA community are in total chaos. ‘The Hangman’ gave rise to quite a buzz in February after UFC 284. In the aftermath of the fight where Makhachev beat Alexander Volkanovski, Hooker allegedly accused the Dagestani of using IV (Intravenous therapy). Now, months after the incident, Hooker has again come out with similar allegations about the fighter.
In a recent FREESTYLEBENDER episode, Hooker sat down with Israel Adesanya to break down and share their top bets for UFC 290. With an unhinged outlet to share his opinions, Hooker once again accused Islam of using IVs to recover from his rigorous weight cut.

Islam Makhachev lashes out at Dan Hooker for IV comments
Recently, Dan Hooker made a bold move as he called out Islam Makhachev while speaking to Izzy. ‘The Hangman’ believes “100 percent – it was Islam Makhachev” who, according to him, used IVs illegally. However, Makhachev hit back soon!
In a tweet posted by him this morning, the champ snapped back at Hooker’s remarks with a rather witty and sarcastic line for him. The tweet read, “Dan hooker is miserable loser lol 😂.” Considering Makhachev’s cool and composed demeanor, the sudden outburst comes as a shock to many fans.

As for ‘The Hangman’s beef with the Russian, it originated way back in 2021, when the fighter submitted Hooker. As far as the allegations against Makhachev are concerned, the USADA has revealed that’s not the case.
