The UFC 263 fight between Leon Edwards and Nate Diaz ended in a victory for ‘Rocky’ Edwards. This was Edwards’s ninth victory in his last 10 fights, with 1 being a no contest. After winning this fight, ‘Rocky’ must have believed that his chances of challenging for the title would have skyrocketed.

However, according to the welterweight champion Kamaru Usman that is not the case. After Edwards won his fight against Diaz, Usman said, “That don’t help you, I guess no one deserves it.”

Edwards said, “All these guys make excuses, you know. They know I’m the man for the title shot; you know. But they all bit*hing and making excuses and saying he doesn’t deserve it. “

“Then who fu**ing does. Colby doesn’t deserve it. Woodley gets injured and now he (Colby) gets a title shot. I didn’t bit*h, I didn’t moan. I took my loss on the chin. And worked my way back up to a 9 fight win streak. Who else fu**ing deserves it, you know.”

Does Leon Edwards deserve a title shot against Kamaru Usman?

With a 10 UFC fight unbeaten streak, Edwards would have certainly thought that he would soon get a title shot. However, that does not seem to be the case. Many including Usman believe that although Edwards won today, his performance was not worthy of that of a title challenger.
