Controversial internet personality, Andrew Tate, who recently called out the YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul, said some demeaning things about the former UFC two-weight champion Conor McGregor after he announced his retirement in 2019.
A year after his loss against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, McGregor announced his retirement via Twitter. Former kickboxer Tate talked about the same on his YouTube channel.

While explaining McGregor’s retirement, Tate claimed that he and The Notorious retired for the same reasons. He stated the Irishman cared way too much about luxuries, which distracted him from fighting.
According to him, McGregor’s flamboyant lifestyle became the reason for his downfall. Tate also took a jibe at the undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather in the same video by stating he only cares about money.
Tate said, “Conor McGregor has retired… I am gonna tell you why he retired, because I also retired. And we retired for the exact same reasons… To be good at fighting, you must be a dork…”
“You must be all in the world you care about… You cannot care about p*ssy, you cannot care even about money, you can’t be interested in fast cars. All that sh*t they are super anomalies like Floyd Mayweather who really cared about money…” Tate added.
“Most people, if they are fighters, they have to just be in love with and dedicated to fighting and not care about anything else on this planet. And Conor McGregor cares about other stuff,” Tate concluded.
Did Conor McGregor really retire from the UFC?
No, the UFC star hasn’t retired from professional fighting yet. He is currently inactive because of an injury he suffered in his last outing in 2021. But, he has fully recovered now and might return soon, given his interest in comeback.
However, the 34-year-old has made a retirement announcement quite several times in his UFC career. In 2016, after losing against Nate Diaz at welterweight McGregor tweeted he is retiring young. However, he returned and defeated Diaz in a rematch in the same year.

McGregor’s second retirement announcement was the one Tate talked about after his loss to Nurmagomedov in 2019. But he returned and bounced back into the win column with a win over Donald Cerrone.
His third retirement announcement came after his win over Cerrone in June 2020, which also didn’t last long as he competed against Dustin Poirier in 2021 twice. However, he lost both the fights.
