LSU women’s basketball star and one of the most famous female athletes, Angel Reese, has been suspended from the team. According to reports, this is an effort on the part of coach Kim Mulkey to engender an ‘attitude change’ for the forward. There have also been reports that she may have been suspended due to low grades, while a locker-room intra-team feud is also being speculated by some as the reason behind it.

However, the team has been silent over why they have benched the star player who led them to a national championship last year. However, despite her achievements, UFC commentator and former light heavyweight title contender Chael Sonnen apparently don’t think that she deserves to be called a star!

News outlet Daily Loud reported in a tweet that Angel Reese had been suspended due to allegedly having low grades. It referenced one of Reese’s teammate’s mother’s tweet as being behind this speculation. LSU Guard Flau’jae Johnson‘s mother and Reese’s mother have been feuding on social media, which seems to reflect the turmoil within the team.

“You definitely know about grammar errors when your daughter has a 2.0 or less GPA,” she had written to Angel Reese’s mother about her daughter, revealing her low grades. Coach Mulkey has been silent on the reasons behind the benching, terming it a “coaching decision” and told reporters that she could answer why she benched Reese, but won’t.

Amidst all the fuss, Chael Sonnen took exception to the LSU forward being described as a ‘star’ by Daily Loud. The West Linn native retweeted the report by the outlet but asked if the word star being used for Reese was a typographical error. ” “Star.” Typo?” he wrote.

The reason behind Sonnen taking a shot at the LSU star is unclear. It may be because the 46-year-old feels that she needs to achieve more in her career, or he may be a supporter of a rival team. Whatever it might be, such a statement from Sonnen is utterly surprising, given that Sonnen seems to be in a friendly and forgiving mood recently.

Sonnen gets Anderson Silva’s face tattooed on his arm?

Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen shared one of the most famous rivalries in UFC history. The two fought twice. And while ‘The Spider’ won both, Sonnen gave Silva the hardest fight of his career thus far in their first fight. Sonnen dominated Silva for four rounds until Silva countered and walked out with the victory. The two reconnected recently, with Silva having invited Sonnen to watch the Brazilian’s biography which featured the West Linn native.

Sonnen promised Silva that he would get a tattoo of his face if he cried at any point during the film. And ‘The American Gangster’ followed through with the promise, getting (an obviously fake) tattoo of Silva on his right arm. Why do you think Chael Sonnen objected to Angel Reese being called a star?
