“Our guys are so dumb it’s next level,” Dana White said in disbelief after Merab Dvalishvili posted a photo showing an injury under his left eye ahead of his bantamweight title bout against Sean O’Malley at UFC 306. The UFC CEO expressed his frustration further: “All the stuff that I talk about boxing—what I will give boxing is, when something happens in a camp, man, let me tell you what: it does not leak.” If there’s one thing the head honcho hates most, it’s fighters injuring themselves before a highly anticipated clash—and ‘The Machine’ seems to be testing his patience. Not once, not twice, but three times!

Yes, the reigning champion has injured himself on three separate occasions ahead of crucial bouts. Let’s take a trip down the rabbit hole: just a month before his first fight against O’Malley at UFC 306, Dvalishvili injured himself and openly showcased the damage. Despite White’s anger, Merab fought as promised—and ultimately won. But that wasn’t the end of his injury saga. Ahead of UFC 311 against Umar Nurmagomedov, ‘The Machine’ once again suffered a severe cut on his leg that required 27 stitches.

Moreover, there was a lingering risk of Dvalishvili not being cleared by the California State Athletic Commission for his title defense. Despite the injuries, ‘The Machine’ humiliated ‘Young Eagle’ to win by way of unanimous decision. Now, ahead of his rematch against O’Malley at UFC 316, Merab Dvalishvili has once again suffered an injury—this time to his left eye.

Several photos uploaded by the fighter on his Instagram timeline show that the bantamweight champion has sustained a cut under his left eye just weeks before the bout. Well, now, you might be wondering how Dana White reacted to all this hubbub. MMACentel’s X handle uploaded a screenshot, allegedly from the UFC CEO’s Instagram story, where he shared Dvalishvili’s post with a caption that read, “This fu—- guy just never learns.”

However, it is important to note that the specific X handle in question is a parody account. Conclusion: The post was never shared by the UFC CEO, let alone the quote! Dana White even commented on the post, calling it “Total bull—-.” Interestingly, Merab Dvalishvili also responded to it by saying, “Thanks, boss. If you don’t know now you know… lol.”

Despite the injury, Merab Dvalishvili appears ready to face his opponent once again and is looking to register a second defense of his bantamweight title. But how is his opponent’s preparation going? Let’s find out.
