UFC veteran Renato Moicano is no stranger to MMA fans. The “Mohawk” had his UFC debut back in 2014, where he picked up the win against Tom Niinimäki and extended his unbeaten run. Later, he rose and fell to the elite fighters at featherweight- Brian Ortega, Chan Sung Jung, and Jose Aldo. However, he found a new home at lightweight and is all set to return to the octagon at 155 lbs.

Hernandez, a four-year UFC veteran, will look to build a name for himself and move up the ranks. The 29-year-old has won 3 of his last 6 fights in the UFC. In his last fight, he landed a spectacular first-round KO punch against Mike Breeden.

Throwback to Renato Moicano vs Jai Herbert

The ‘Mohawk’ had his most recent fight against Jai Herbert earlier this year. In their UFC Vegas 30 main card opener, Moicano absolutely dominated Jai throughout the fight.

Renato’s repeated takedown attempts gave the Brit very little time to do anything. Finally, a second-round takedown resulted in Moicano’s super quick submission victory.

In the fourth minute of round two, Herbert let Moicano take his back. Hence, he was trapped in a rear-naked chokehold and tapped.

What do you make of this booking for the second PPV of 2022? Who do you think will be able to kickstart a winning run at lightweight? Renato Moicano or Alexander Hernandez?
