The UFC women’s 125-pound division is currently being reigned by Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian flyweight queen Valentina Shevchenko. Although the division has many intriguing fighters, no one has dethroned ‘Bullet’ ever since she claimed the gold. Meanwhile, one of the fighters in the division is her older sister, Antonina Shevchenko.

‘La Pantera’ has been fighting professionally since 2002 and has been a former Muay Thai world champion. The 37-year-old joined UFC back in 2018 via Dana White’s contenders series. Now, she will make her comeback in the octagon at the UFC event on April 30.

According to MMA Fighting, she is slated to face off against Cortney Casey in a flyweight bout. |The Dana White’s contender series contract winner will be returning to the octagon after seven months.

On the flip side, Cortney Casey is a UFC veteran who has been with the promotion since 2015. She made her UFC debut against Joanne Wood. After two consecutive losses, she finally registered her first UFC win against Cristina Stanciu in 2016.

‘Cast Iron’ is coming off a unanimous decision win over Liana Jojua at UFC Fight Night 197: Holloway vs. Rodriguez. This win helped her snap a two-fight skid. 2022 will mark her seventh year with the promotion with 14 appearances to her name in the promotion. Currently, she is 10-9 in her professional MMA career.

How is Antonina Shevchenko faring in the UFC?

Antonina Shevchenko has been an illustrious Muay Thai fighter prior to her debut in the UFC. She started her MMA career back in 2002 and, after a long hiatus, returned in 2017. She faced Ji Yeon Kim at the Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale. Where she won via a unanimous decision.

Shevchenko lost her first UFC bout against Roxanne Modafferi via a split decision at UFC Fight Night 149 – Overeem vs. Oleynik.

Her last UFC win came against Ariane Lipski back in back in 2020, where she stopped her opponent in the second round of the match.
