Jorge Masvidal is one of the most popular MMA fighters in the world. ‘Gamebred’, an MMA veteran, has been competing professionally since 2003. The fighter holds the record for the quickest KO in UFC history and also holds the UFC ‘BMF’ championship belt.
‘Gamebred’ last competed in the UFC back in April 2021. He lost the fight courtesy of a second-round KO at the hands of Kamaru Usman. Following that defeat, ‘Gamebred’, on a hiatus from the UFC, has gone on to start his own bare-knuckle MMA promotion.

Recently, Masvidal announced that former UFC title challenger Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva will compete at the Gamebred Fighting Championship 2 event. Silva will clash with fellow UFC veteran Alex Nicholson at the main event of the night.
During a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, the fighter talked about the same. He said, “Doing the second one, September 11, we are ready to set fire. We got the main event that’s incredible, that we have been working on. And everything fell into place, all the ducks in the room. And that is Bigfoot silva. I’m gonna bring him in actually, so come here and say the other name, Bigfoot Silva vs Alex Nicholson.”
‘Bigfoot’ made an appearance during the show and he announced the name of his next opponent. And while Silva and Nicholson may not be in the best of forms, it will surely be exciting to watch these fighters compete.
What next for Jorge Masvidal?
While Masvidal is busy setting fights in his promotion, he still is an active UFC fighter. ‘Gamebred’, despite losing his last 2 UFC fights, is still a huge draw. He will look to return soon and secure a fight against a big-name opponent towards the tail end of 2021. But who can he fight?

While Masvidal has expressed his desire to face Usman again, that fight seems highly unlikely. The most probable fight for Masvidal will be against someone like Leon Edwards or Nate Diaz.
