Daniel Cormier has had enough of people criticizing his commentary. The former UFC double champion is a part of the most popular UFC commentary trio. Alongside Jon Anik and Joe Rogan, Cormier has witnessed and lent his voice to many iconic moments in UFC history.

However, the 43-year-old has also faced several accusations of biased commentary. These criticisms gain more traction when DC’s teammates from AKA step into the cage.

AKA athlete and UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev defended his title at UFC 284 this past Saturday. While Cormier was not on commentary duties, he shared his thoughts on the fight afterward. However, the former Olympic wrestler had more criticisms coming his way for his analysis of the contest. Only this time, Cormier was not going to take it lying down.

Daniel Cormier fires back at a fan for questioning his credibility

Daniel Cormier shared the link to his analysis of the UFC 284 main event on his Twitter. However, it was not long before one fan decided to be blunt with the former champion. Responding to DC’s tweet, he wrote, ” Losing credibility right there. Please don’t commentate during @JonnyBones fight.”

Evidently unimpressed with DC’s analysis, the fan did not want him commentating on his bitter rival Jon Jones‘ UFC 285 title fight.

In retaliation, Cormier responded in kind to the fan. He wrote, “Ok, any other fights you want me off?” He continued, “I took last night off at your suggestion. Was the experience much more enjoyable?”.

This is not the first time Cormier has clapped back at his critics. In 2021, he put a fan in his place for levying biased commentary accusations.

When DC called out a “dumb” fan

Cormier stood his ground and defended his take on Alexander Volkanovski‘s UFC 284 bout. Incidentally, he did the same for another Volkanovski fight in 2021. In September 2021, Volkanovski defended his featherweight title against Brian Ortega at UFC 266.

Following the event, one Aussie fan went after DC for being biased toward Ortega during the fight. However, Cormier did not let it slide.

He had a scathing response that read, “You’re so crazy! Like a complete idiot, I was fair to these guys. We tell the story you loser, even if it isn’t the story you wanna hear. Jesus you are so dumb!

Cormier has not had it easy on the commentary job. He has faced criticism from top stars like Sean O’Malley and Conor McGregor. His own desk buddy Dominick Cruz once said Cormier did not do his homework before commentating. Nevertheless, Cormier remains a familiar presence on the commentary desk.
