Undefeated UFC bantamweight prospect, Umar Nurmagomedov might just be a few wins away from fighting for the UFC Title. However, he has a tough challenge ahead of him, as he would welcome a top prospect from Kazakhstan, Bekzat Almakhan at UFC Fight Night 238. However, other than his upcoming fight against the No.1 fighter from Kazakhstan, he has been under the public’s eye for his comments on the Newly crowned UFC featherweight champion.

Umar Nurmagomedov, in a recent interview with a Russian media outlet, defended his teammate from getting bullied by Ilia Topuria. Another of his teammates, Bellator champion Usman Nurmagomedov, not long after came aboard the Topuria hate wagon as he put up a story threatening the 27-year-old champion.

The UFC bantamweight champion, Umar Nurmagomedov, is the cousin brother of arguably the greatest fighter to fight in the UFC lightweight division, Khabib Nurmagomedov But most people don’t know that he is also the older brother of the Bellator lightweight champion, Usman Nurmagomedov.

Both Umar and Usman Nurmagomedov trained under the renowned MMA coach, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. After his passing, Khabib Nurmagomedov, the elder cousin of the two brothers, took up the responsibility of training them. Both the fighters are gearing up for greatness as both have been on respectable runs in their respective promotions.

Umar Nurmagomedov has a lot at stake going into his fight against the Kazakhstan superstar, as there are a ton of expectations for his future. However, he revealed that he’s not overlooking any contenders, as he has teammates who don’t hesitate to keep him in check.

The older Nurmagomedov brother explains his mindset going into his fight at UFC Fight Night 238

During a recent interview for UFC Fight Night 238, he talked about his mindset going into the fight against the top Kazak prospect. He explained how he was having trouble finding opponents, but he hoped that his next win would help him get a top-5 opponent in the division.

On fighting a debuting fighter, he stated, “For me, I have to be active. I didn’t think this fight is going to be a very easy fight for me and I didn’t train. So, I’m training. I’m training very hard. I’m training like I will train for the title. I’m not sleep. For my opponent, it’s opportunity, big opportunity. I think he’ll do a great job, too, and we’ll see this Saturday.”
