Arman Tsarukyan’s time away from the UFC cage hasn’t slowed him down; it’s just shifted where the spotlight finds him. The 29-year-old lightweight contender last stepped into the cage back in November 2025 against Dan Hooker, yet his visibility has arguably grown through livestreams, public appearances, and side ventures.

From dropping $1 million on a Rolls-Royce with streamer N3on to grappling matches at the RAF, he has stayed active, just not in the traditional sense. But with that visibility comes unpredictability. And recently, that unpredictability turned into a viral moment that had fans doing a double-take.
During a livestream on Kick, Tsarukyan found himself in a lighthearted but tense exchange with a stranger while handling a paintball gun. The situation never escalated into anything serious, but it showed how quickly things can shift when personalities and cameras mix.
In the clip, Tsarukyan appeared relaxed, even playful, as he encouraged the cameraman to take a paintball shot.
“Just try on your chest… is it hurt? On your head, okay,” he said, clearly not taking things too seriously.
However, the mood changed when another man stepped in, warning him not to shoot the camera.
“Said don’t shoot the cameraman, bro,” the man said, before escalating it slightly. “If you shoot the camera, we’re gonna fight, bro, I swear.”
Tsarukyan didn’t back down, but he also didn’t match the aggression. Instead, he laughed it off and leaned into the moment.

“Who, you and me?” he asked, before joking, “bare knuckle fight or MMA fight?”
The response came quickly: “Street fight.”
That line could have taken things in a different direction, especially considering Tsarukyan’s past. He’s had his share of heated moments, from the UFC 300 altercation with a fan to the head-butt incident with Dan Hooker before their fight at UFC Qatar, and even a post-match brawl at RAF 06 with Georgio Poullas.
Those situations have followed him, and reportedly even affected his career trajectory, including missing out on title opportunities. But this time, the tone stayed different. Arman Tsarukyan kept it light, smiling through the exchange, and never crossed into real confrontation. He turned a potentially tense situation into something that stayed controlled and, in parts, even humorous, showing real growth. And according to Sean O’Malley, the turnaround has been remarkable.
Sean O’Malley heaps praise on Arman Tsarukyan for becoming a “legend” outside the UFC
The bigger story isn’t just about maturity; it’s about how Arman Tsarukyan has stayed relevant without fighting inside the UFC. Right now, the lightweight division is crowded at the top.
With Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje set to fight for the undisputed title at UFC Freedom 250, there’s no immediate opening for Tsarukyan. That’s the reality. Despite being one of the most skilled contenders at 155, he’s been left waiting. And instead of sitting inactive, he’s taken a different route, and Sean O’Malley sees that shift clearly.
”Arman’s a f—— gangster. Arman is becoming a legend we’ve never really seen this,” the former champion shared on his podcast. “Someone that is in the UFC, growing and becoming more of a superstar by competing outside the UFC. Arman wants to fight and he’s just not getting fights… Arman’s becoming a legend outside of it, and it’s f—— really cool to see, and it’s fun to watch.”
The question now is simple. What happens when the door finally opens?
Because if Arman Tsarukyan keeps this level of activity and continues to show maturity in moments like this, he won’t just return as another contender. He’ll return with more eyes on him than before. And in a division where timing matters as much as skill, that could make all the difference.
