UFC featherweight contender Arnold Allen recently revealed that he got into a dangerous situation in Canada. The Englishman claimed to have been attacked by some locals in Montreal and even showed off his bruises. But he claims there’s nothing to be concerned about, and while revealing this incident, Allen decided to shift his attention towards the heavyweight title fight this weekend between Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane.

Montreal is a city that is dominated mostly by French speakers. But Arnold Allen doesn’t have a clue about that language since he’s English. And it appears that his altercation happened because of a language barrier. Let’s take a look at that front.

Arnold Allen reveals getting attacked in Montreal while sharing UFC 321 main event analysis
The UFC featherweight contender revealed that he wasn’t attacked by just one person. There were a few guys who took offense at the fact that he couldn’t speak French, but he claims everything’s fine. “I’m in Montreal currently, training for stuff, and I got beat up in the street because I wasn’t using French. I got jumped because I didn’t speak French,” Arnold Allen said on his YouTube channel. “That’s what the bruises are all about; don’t worry about it.”
He then went into analyst mode next and shared his thoughts on the UFC 321 main eventers. And unsurprisingly, he has picked his countrymen’s side. “Obviously, I’m biased. I like the English guy. I’m going to back the English guy.” ‘Almighty’ claims that Tom Aspinall, for him, is a pretty special fighter. Talking about the way he’s been beating his opponents within a round or two makes him a threat, no matter who steps up to fight him. In the case of Ciryl Gane, Allen, of course, talked about the Frenchman’s crafty striking skills, who has also worked on his ground game after getting manhandled by Jon Jones.

“Tom does some really nice things. He has, like, forty minutes of fight time in the UFC or something crazy, or maybe in his career. He’s just knocking everyone out [in the] first round over and over and over, knockout or submission. He’s such a good finisher,” Arnold Allen continued. “Gane, too, great striker, good Muay Thai. He’s definitely improved since that Jon Jones loss. I think he’s fixed some holes. Learned to wrestle a little bit.”
If we look at the track record, Arnold Allen claims Tom Aspinall might just be better than his French counterpart. That’s because the heavyweight champion is more versatile than Ciryl Gane, both on the feet and on the ground. But even then, there is one hole in his game that the featherweight contender has pointed out, which could prove detrimental at UFC 321.
“But I just feel like Tom’s just better. And I think he has more options. It is heavyweight MMA, and anyone could get hit and knocked out,” Arnold Allen added. “Tom does concern me when he waves in with his chin in the air. It’s worked. It’s worked for him recently, and he’s knocking everyone out.”

After the analysis of the main event this weekend, Arnold Allen finally shared his prediction. He believes in his fellow Brit to overcome Ciryl Gane, and, interestingly, the featherweight star envisions ending the Frenchman in the same way he went down in his last title fight.

Arnold Allen predicts a Jon Jones-esque win for Aspinall
Fans often forget that, despite the multiple KOs Tom Aspinall has recorded, he has also won a couple of fights via submission in the UFC. Arnold Allen is confident that the heavyweight champion is going to record his third submission win this Saturday. And that submission, according to the featherweight star, is going to be similar to the one Jon Jones used to beat Ciryl Gane — a guillotine choke, even though he might have to deal with a barrage of strikes.
“I feel like this fight, Tom’s gonna… stand with him a little bit and then try to take him down most likely after seeing Jon Jones throw him down and guillotine him pretty much with ease… I think he’s gonna try and take him out first round. He could definitely get clipped. Gane is a precise striker… throws a lot of volume, weird like clubbing, hammer fist, backhand,” Allen added. “But he’s a big powerful guy so he could definitely get caught while running in… Tom’s gonna be too fast. In, out, in, take him down [and] probably submit him.”
Tom Aspinall is getting a lot of backing to win this fight from many MMA figures, and he’s been putting in the work. But we’ll all get the answers this weekend when two of the new breed of heavyweight fighters clash, ushering in a new era. Let us know in the comments section who you see taking the victory this weekend.
