Donald Trump recently went on a Middle Eastern tour and made history as the President of the United States. In a bid to secure massive economic investments, reported to be around $2 trillion, he visited Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar. While the deal involved investment in a range of sectors, the countries also pledged to invest a significant amount of money and effort into the development of artificial intelligence infrastructure. It is not only an enormous investment but also a sound one because one of Joe Rogan‘s recent podcast guests claimed that the future of AI is going to redefine the way mankind’s evolution and progress.

Harold White, also known as ‘Sonny’, spent 25 years in the aerospace industry, working for NASA. The 59-year-old engineer made a stunning claim while discussing propulsion and quantum energy with Joe Rogan. He argued that the pace at which innovation took place in society was rather slow because the world had not developed the tools to be as efficient as it is today.

“In the span of just a few decades, we go from acute coffee cup worthy equation to a paradigm shift in human existence… And that’s without computers in the way we think of it. That’s without machine learning and without AI,” the aerospace expert stated in the #2318 JRE episode. Joe Rogan’s guest implied that the lack of tools, like ‘machine learning and AI’, would have kept the pace of innovation at the same rate. While taking the example of Albert Einstein’s famous theory of special relativity, which was an important development in nuclear technology, Harold White told Rogan that the possibility of new theories and developments of that sort is endless because we cannot estimate how much AI is capable of.

“As we continue to move forward… if you think about everything we know in physics today, general relativity and quantum mechanics are kind of the two bookends of everything that we know, we’re going to continue to expand our knowledge and we will come up with new E=MC² kind of equations,” Joe Rogan’s guest added. “But now, we’re equipped with machine learning, AI, and so, it’s going to be exponential growth, right? So, it’ll be interesting to see how quickly we go from, ‘Hey, I have this new insight. Found this funny thing in a lab,’ to, ‘Wow, it changes everything, how we do everything as a culture and community.'”

While Joe Rogan was left pretty intrigued by Harold White’s statement, he did mention one key issue that could pop up in the future. While AI does help people speed things up, there is cause for concern when it comes to eventually taking over and rendering human beings useless. Here’s what Joe Rogan had to say on that front, but it pertains to a certain line of work.

Joe Rogan talks about AI’s potential to take over human jobs

The world is already talking about AI potentially taking over human jobs, but Joe Rogan believes that the entertainment industry, especially Hollywood, will face the brunt of it. While he claims the industry will flourish with artificial intelligence’s capabilities being endless, the actors would be the ones to fall, and they could become obsolete. Why? Well, Rogan claims the whole process of making a movie will be done “entirely on a computer.”

“t’ll make awesome movies. They’re still going to make movies, but they’re going to make movies entirely on a computer. The people that are going to be f—ed are the actors and the writers,” Joe Rogan stated on his podcast last year. “They’re f—ed. And then the animators, they’re f—ed … everybody’s f—ed. All these special effects houses … yeah, everybody.”

What’s your perspective on:

Will Trump's $2 trillion AI investment redefine progress or render us obsolete in the job market?

Have an interesting take?

However, the 57-year-old also claimed that there are a number of jobs that can become “useless,” and that mankind is “literally giving birth to our successor.” Well, that’s a terrifying scenario to imagine, but the current status of AI’s development appears to be on the side of positivity. What do you think? Will Donald Trump’s efforts in securing an investment for AI pay off? Drop your comments below.
